Exciting Times...
We hope you are all safe and well and just as excited about the news coming out of Number 10 as we are - I couldn’t be happier!!! As a country, I think that we need to safely get back to some sort of normality and get this economy back on track.
Here at MCF Recruitment, we are taking the news as an opportunity. Coming out of Lockdown, we have looked at the way that we want to work, we have looked at the demands of the recruitment industry and reviewed our SMART objectives and have set ourselves some new, crystal-clear objectives.
One thing that we are very excited about, something that we will be at the forefront of when other organisations see the benefits, is a 4-day working week. Trials in New Zealand and Iceland, as well as research have shown vast improvements in productivity and slashes an organisations carbon footprint – we would be doing our part in helping the UK meet its climate targets and build back better! We are NOT going to be reducing to 4 days but increasing the length of the working day. We are continuing working 8am - 5pm.
We have made the decision to trial it from September until the Christmas break for all staff (more to follow on this…) and if it is as successful as we think it will be, as of January 2022, it will be a full-time fixture.
Rather than what we see as being a restriction, we have also decided to ditch the office! We are adopting a more hybrid approach to where we work. We have engaged several satellite offices and open space working areas throughout the region so that the lovely people that work for MCF are able to work from home, from one of the satellite offices or open workspaces individually or collectively. We are HUGE advocates of Mental Health as an organisation and again have looked at the research in easing everyone back into daily working life.
We are also growing! Initially it was scary, increasing our headcount at what has been a very challenging time seemed very counterintuitive, but we are extremely fortunate to receive business guidance and advice from Mark at TEDCO as well as DABS. In the coming weeks, we will be adding a Junior Recruitment Consultant and a Resourcer to the team.
Both Jo and I are extremely dedicated and committed to the business and our awesome Clients and Candidates. We will continue to provide the level of service that we pride ourselves on and ensure that our new additions will adopt this and slip into their roles like an old pair of slippers. The guys will be introduced on our website and on our social media channels once we have appointed them!
Why not give us a follow in Facebook, Insta, LinkedIn (Tok-tok en route) for future, exciting updates?
Stay safe
Michael
